Now that I had it the Linux machine running, I used the DOS PPP packet driver known as epppd.exe, which simulated an ethernet interface on a DOS machine by sending ethernet packets over a serial port. The port the radio had been using was COM10. It is now not in the Device Manager list and I get the error message 'Invalid port number (8002) the port = primary CAT port number 10 = settings = 38400,N,8,1'
Serial port COM11 works fine to another radio device. The only problem is that COM10 is gone, and I don't know how to re-establish it. The help pages direct me to a procedure for establishing new internet ports, of which there are thousands. I'm sure the serial ports are something else, but this seems hidden.
Configure a system device: COM / LPT port, or CMD console CON.

Mode lines will set both the height/width of the console window and the screen buffer.
Mode can be used to set the display window to be larger than the monitor width and/or height, in this case the CMD window size will be restricted to the display size but a scroll bar will appear. If the display window is made very large (many times the size of a typical display), the memory used by conhost.exe will increase, in extreme cases to over 1 GB.
In PowerShell the height and buffer size can be set independently, but this requires a script.
